Arm Lift / Brachioplasty
What is Arm Lift?
Arm lift is a procedure aimed at reducing the bulk ot the arms and also toning the arms to give a better shape to the arms.
It is usually done by Liposuction along with a Skin excision which is done for Massive weight loss patients.
Why Arm Lift?
In the cases of Massive Weight Loss or following a Bariatric Procedure, there is a lot of skin excess which also needs to be tackled along with the fat.
For these patients, along with liposuction, the skin excess is also removed and tucked. This is called a Brachioplasty.
The skin is usually dystrophic in such patients and since there is a massive weight loss ina short period of time, the skin does shrink as well and hangs loose by the side. This neccesitates the removal of the skin and tightening to give a better shape and contour to the area.
The scar is placed along the inner aspect of the arm and depending on the amount of excess skin can be till mid arm or right down to the elbow.
Sometimes an upper body lift is combined with the arm lift if needed.
The upper Body Lift consists of a removal of the “Bra Folds” skin in the back and the incision goes right across the back
